Safety Officer

We are searching for a responsible Safety Officer to facilitate compliance with occupational health insurance safety (OHS) guidelines. You are going to provide advice on measures to lower hazards or unhealthy situations. You may also be on a continuing lookout for violations.

The best candidate will certainly be a responsible individual who swears by OSH regulations. Your task is going to be largely focused on prevention so you ought to be conscientious and farsighted. The best candidate may also be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the roll-out of OHS policies and programs
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  • Review existing policies and measures and update in accordance with legislation
  • Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
  • Inspect premises along with the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that appear dangerous or unhealthy
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and gives statistical information to upper management

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as safety officer
  • Detailed expertise in legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and operations
  • Understanding of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Experience in some reports and policies for safety and health
  • Information about conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Experienced in MS Office; Working expertise in safety management information systems is a vital
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Diligent with great focus detail
  • Excellent communication skills have real profit present and explain safety and health topics
  • BSc/BA safely management, engineering or relevant field is preferred
  • Certificate in occupational safety and health
